Besides cooking and baking with the new seasonal products, I also like to come up with fun and clever ways to package my homemade Christmas gifts.

Making homemade holiday treats and packaging them in cute ways is so much cheaper when you are shopping and making from the Holiday Bake Center at Walmart.

This one batch of Red Velvet Fudge can be packed up into about 10 or more gifts depending on how many pieces of fudge you use for each gift. Everyone loves to get homemade fudge as a gift at Christmas time.

You're in for a double sweet DIY treat today because I am sharing the recipe for this homemade Red Velvet Fudge and a cute DIY Christmas Gift packaging idea for your homemade fudge Christmas gifts this year.

You can package almost any homemade Christmas treat you make using the same idea as I used for my Red Velvet Fudge in a Jar Christmas gift.

How to make this Red Velvet Fudge Recipe

Crust Ingredients

  • 1 package red velvet sandwich cookiescrushed fine
  • 5 tablespoons melted butter

Fudge Ingredients

  • 16 ½ Jet-Puffed Jumbo Red Velvet Cupcake Marshmallows
  • 2-4 oz. barsBakers Premium White Chocolate (8 oz) , chopped well
  • 1 ½ cups Bakers Premium White Chocolate Chips
  • 1 10 oz bag Wilton Limited Edition Red Velvet candy melts or red melting candy disks
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 box JELL-O Vanilla instant pudding-3.4 oz size

Toppings

  • 2 tablespoons reserved cookie crumbs
  • white melting chocolate
  • sprinkles

Directions

  1. Mix the crumbs with the butter and remove 2 tablespoons to use as a topping.
  2. Press crumbs into an 8 x 8-inch baking pan that has been lined with parchment paper.
  3. In a saucepan melt the Jet-Puffed Jumbo Red Velvet Cupcake Marshmallows over low heat.
  4. Add the Bakers Premium White Chocolate, theBakers Premium White Chocolate Chips, the condensed milk and butter to the pot.
  5. Stir constantly over medium-low heat until all of the chocolate is melted.
  6. Add the JELL-O Vanilla instant pudding to the pot and stir until it is completely incorporated with the mixture.
  7. Pour mixture over the crust. If large air bubbles form use a toothpick to pierce them.
  8. Sprinkle the reserved cookie crumbs over the top.
  9. Allow to harden overnight before cutting into about 49 one inch squares.
  10. Optional: Melt about ¼ cup of red melting choclate in a plastic sandwich bag. Snip the end off and drizzle the chocolate over the top of the red velvet fudge pieces. Sprinkle the top immediately with sprinkles.

Ingredients

Cookie Crumb Crust

How to make Christmas Fudge Gift Jars

Supplies

  • Mini Candy Jars
  • wide Ribbon
  • Christmas Chipboard
  • Chalk Hang Tags with string hanger
  • white chalk pencil
  • Christmas Basket Filler
  • small Plastic Treat Bags & wire twist (ribbon can be substituted)
  • wide Christmas Washi Tape
  • Homemade Red Velvet Fudge
  • hot glue gun
  • scissors

Directions

  1. Measure the ribbon by wrapping it around a mini candy jar or mason jar.
  2. Cut the ribbon the width of the jar plus a ¼ inch for overlap.
  3. Place a bead of hot glue along the short edge of the ribbon and attach it to the jar.
  4. Wrap the ribbon around the jar so the ends overlap. Attach with a bead of hot glue.
  5. Pick your focal piece of Christmas chipboard and glue it down on top of the ribbon in the center of the jar.
  6. Attach a complimenting but smaller piece of Christmas chipboard on each side of the focal piece.
  7. Set aside to allow the glue to set.
  8. Wrap each piece fudge in a mini treat bag, securing the top with a wire twist or a piece of colorful ribbon.
  9. Place a small amount of Christmas basket filler in the bottom of the jar.
  10. Tuck the plastic wrapped fudge into the jar.
  11. Write the name of your fudge recipe or a holiday greeting on the chalk label with a piece of chalk.
  12. Tuck the string of the label into the jar and place the lid in place securing the label string inside the jar.
  13. Wrap the Christmas washi tap around the seam of the lid to secure the lid in place.
  14. If you're using a mason jar wrap the washi tap around the edge of the screw on band.
